F.E. WARREN AIR FORCE BASE
FE Warren Air Force Base is Cheyenne’s largest employer with approximately 4400 military and civilian employees. Located on the western edge of Cheyenne this Military base is rich with history from protecting the workers who built the transcontinental railroad to providing security on the American Frontier. Today, F.E. Warren is home to the 90th Missile Wing which ensures that our missile weapons system is safe, secure and ready to carry out the orders of the president of the United States.
The city of Cheyenne and FE Warren have always had existed harmoniously and work well together to create our friendly western atmosphere.
The base maintains the historic exterior of each building with appropriate interior modifications for today’s living and working environment. Because of the lasting integrity of the base’s historic architecture and setting, the central core of the base was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975 and the base was designated a National Historic Landmark.
